Luxury Refinished Antique Cabinet with Teal Mirror & Gold Ribbed Glass

This is a stunning antique Mahogany glazed Cabinet with an elegant Edwardian design, over 100 years old in date. The panels are beautifully shaped with attractive curves and feature a gold ribbed glass effect, with the addition of a teal mirrored panel at the back, wooden shelving and original mahogany trims. It stands on elegant tall legs and is a substantial size; with the addition of cordless LED lighting.

It’s a beautiful piece that makes a real statement, once dated it has now been transformed into a gorgeous drinks or display cabinet; or perhaps a bookcase with a modern design edge yet retaining plenty of vintage character. The glazing has been given a contemporary twist using coffee/ gold coloured vinyl panels, and luxurious teal acrylic mirror on the back panel, set against a colourful and vibrant backdrop.

The frame has been painted in teal eggshell which has a slight sheen, the colour is almost identical to the bespoke piece of mirror I have used to create a sophisticated colour drenched look. The shelving inside has been replaced with a more sturdy wood replacement and edged with the original trim to retain some character which I think works really well.

The coloured effect used on the glass reflects differently in different lights, so you will see shades of coffee, bronze, gold and even clear glass throughout the day, which really highlights the stunning arts & crafts inspired oval shapes in the original glass panels.

As mentionned there is also an LED light panel fitted into the top section where it is hidden from view, this means there is the option to light up the cabinet should you want to. It really makes such a feature of this piece and will create a cosy atmosphere in the evenings. Please note this is a chargeable led light which comes with a charging lead, pluggable into your computer or own plug at home. The light is magnetic so you will not have insightly wires coming from the cabinet and everything is concealed nicely, making it easy to place the cabinet wherever you like without worrying about where to plug in.

This is a one-off statement piece of furniture in both its original design and also it's redesign, there will never be another so don't miss your chance to hold on to it as this is rare to find genuinely.

I just think this would look stunning in any interior space and add a vintage, characterful look to a bar, hotel room, bedroom or kitchen even.

The condition is good though this is over 100 years old so please keep this in mind however it has been refinished to a good standard, the glass sections are hand blown to note so you will see natural imperfections in the glass, it also has a handpainted finish though this has been done to a professional standard. The cabinet closes using more modern bronzed effect magnetic catches for practicality but has the original brass hinges still intact. The piece stands solid and the modified shelving is strong enough to hold glassware and books. Please note overall that the cabinet is not brand new and will show signs of use, however it has been refinished to a good standard, (see photographs as these form part of the description)  

Also in terms of when you receive this item, the wooden shelving will be removed, and these will need to be put in place before use.
