Late 19th Century Antique small oak drop leaf table, made in England.
The solid oak has a lovely color with the original finish and pegged construction, an authentic sign of age and quality; with the oval top following down to nicely carved decorated aprons on the ends which adds detail and character to the piece. The table is supported on slightly splayed and wonderfully hand turned legs, joined by simple stretchers; the stretchers are a feature that add more rustic charm, having a hand turned appearance, as opposed to sawn by machinery.
Additionally the table features an antique Swivel-Top function, indicative of the era. Many traditional drop-leaf tables, particularly antique or vintage pieces, use a swivel top action. The tabletop is attached to the frame by a central pivot, allowing the top section to rotate 90 degrees to a position where the folded leaves can be raised and supported, effectively by the base as shown, and this doubles the surface area.
As a result this style table is so useful and would make a practical but charming addition any home, perfect for when you need an additional surface for drinks, magazines, your phone or remote even.
Overall it is a lovely little occasional table, a quality piece with plenty of rustic character. The condition is great, this stands solid and the patina is original. As a result there are some marks and scratches consumerate with age however I would prefer to keep the story and history of this table than eradictate the lovely colour and patina it worked so hard to get, the mechanism is smooth and works perfectly, and once the leaves are up the table is really solid and sturdy.

We offer free delivery on small items, such as artwork. Smaller furniture items are shipped at a flat rate of £30 and all larger furniture items are shipped at a flat rate of £60 per item.
When an order has been placed, I will contact a courier company within 24 hours to book in a collection. At that point your details will be passed on so the delivery driver can make contact with you at a later date to arrange a suitable delivery date with you.
We advise a usual delivery time of between 1 and 2 weeks, however this can vary a little and can sometimes take longer depending on your location.

We offer the option to return your item for a full refund within14 days, however please note that any delivery costs incurred including return delivery will not be refunded, also consider the item will need to be sent back with the original courier in the original packaging and inspected for any damage before a refund can be issued.
