The Rohan Mid Century Boho Bamboo Rattan Rocking Chair by Rohé Noordwolde

A rarely seen and sought after vintage rocking chair believed to be designed by Roche Noordwolde in the 1960s.

This is a mid century piece featuring bamboo and cane construction with a metal base, of which still maintains the original black paintwork. I have seen many copies inspired by this chair by recent interior brands, however this has the vintage look that can’t be replicated and is a genuine example of a mid century piece which would really add some luxury to a space.

The chair is in excellent condition with no major breaks or damage in the weaving, only very minor imperfections of which are consumerate with age. Please see the photographs for more detail but generally speaking this chair is still looking great. The cane work has a good colour and has remained untouched for a good amount of years which makes this piece all the more characterful and authentic.

This chair is lightweight so easy to move from room to room should you want to change up your decor quickly, or ideal to move around the house when you have guests and need extra seating.

It is a beautiful shape with nice wide arms, and a bucket style seat; it has a large rocking base which creates a lovely motion when you sit in this. I can imagine it in a garden room, bohemian styled reception room as occasional seating with a textured throw or even in a bar or restaurant to create a cosy living space for clients.
