A timelessly elegant Globe Wernicke style Sectional Solicitors Bookcase.

This is a highly sought-after piece made from solid English oak with handmade glass panels and brass details such as the handles, hinges and catches.

Dating from around the 1920's, it once would have been used in a barristers or Solicitors office and is an example of exquisite craftsmanship. It has a clever stackable design meaning the Bookcase comes in 3 sections which fit perfectly on top of one another; making it easy to move about or add extra sections to if preferred.

The top section is very rare having 2 doors opening outwards as a traditional cabinet would; sitting on top of 2 more sections, each with a sliding doors of which pull out and slides back with ease into the cabinet, the mechanism is a great example of quality and why I love antiques and this piece so much!

Perfect for any antique or book lover, it makes a great display cabinet and will add a touch of sophistication and organization to any space.

I can imagine this looking stunning in a period home, adding character but also acting as a practical storage solution for crockery, glassware, books or prized possessions.

The condition is good, the original dark wood patina has been left alone however this has been fully polished inside and out to bring out the gorgeous oak patina. This stands solid, the glass is in perfect condition and the doors all open/ run smoothly. The only thing of note is some wear to the very top of the cabinet where the veneer here has slightly split (I think perhaps dues to a plant or something placed there) however it is not noticeable because you can't see the top. Other than that it's completely stunning just showing normal wear consumerate with its age. Please see the photographs!
